Hello!

My name is Meredith Spargo and I am from Missouri in the United States. I graduated from Truman State University in 2021 with a BA in Sociology and I completed my Masters in Elementary Education and English as a Second Language in 2022. I did my student teaching in a fourth grade classroom in the fall of 2022 and I taught first grade for 10 weeks in the spring of 2023. I’ve always known that I wanted to teach in an international school and I’m so excited to start my teaching career in Taiwan!

I believe that one of the most important things a teacher can do is build meaningful relationships with their students. I’m so looking forward to meeting all of my students and celebrating what we can learn from each other. I strive to make my classroom a warm and welcoming environment where students are encouraged to learn from their mistakes. I want to show students what they are capable of doing on their own and give them the tools to take their learning beyond the classroom.

I am beyond excited to explore Taiwan! I love finding good coffee shops and farmers markets and can’t wait to discover what Taiwan has to offer. I also love reading, cooking, and playing card games with friends and family!

In my free time, I love to experience new places by being outdoors and eating amazing food. I also love to sing and play the piano. I am currently teaching myself how to play the guitar and hope to master it while I’m in Taiwan. Additionally, I love to sit down and journal, curl up and read a good book, and cook for my family and friends. I am confident that I will continue to do all of the things that fill my heart with joy in my new home. I cannot wait to meet your children and spend the year learning about life in Taiwan!
