International TEFL Certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)

Molweni! (That means Hello!) My name is Lonwabo Fayo and I am from Port Elizabeth, South Africa – Yes, Africa! I studied and graduated from Rhodes University with a degree in Journalism, Media Studies and Communication. I also have a TEFL qualification from a well-renowned institution based in the United Kingdom. It is has been an absolute pleasure and honour to be given the opportunity to teach young children at Cornel.

I have 5 years’ experience as a Communication and Public Relations lecturer at a College in South Africa. In my years there I became passionate about teaching English, as I realised that, even though I was educating young adults, many of them missed the opportunity to receive adequate foundational English language skills when they were younger. This conviction coupled with my love for travel, led to me exploring opportunities to teach English abroad.

I am incredibly excited about my time at Cornel! I look forward to working, as part of an amazing team, to impart high quality foundational English language skills to young Taiwanese children. I am also looking forward to living in Taiwan and travelling in and around Asia!

I love hanging out with people (friends and strangers), enjoy travelling, exploring new places and taking part in new adventures. I love music (can play a couple of instruments), movies and the occasional bungee jump or sky dive!
