Ni hao! My name is Teacher Lindsey and I am very excited to be teaching at Cornel. I am from Chicago, Illinois in the United States of America. I went to college at the University of Iowa and graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree. I worked as a pediatric nurse for 5 years before switching careers to pursue a graduate degree in Elementary Education from DePaul University. I taught abroad in Costa Rica and Guatemala and have loved the experience of immersing myself in new cultures and combining both my passions: teaching and traveling in one. For the past 6 years, I have taught in Chicago and I’m looking forward to working with you this school year.
As a teacher, I strive to build trusting relationships with students and create a classroom environment that is safe, respectful, and welcoming. Each student has a unique set of skills that they bring and through differentiation in instruction, I help meet the needs of all my students and support them in their academic and social goals. Our classroom community will be centered around trust, acceptance, teamwork, and engaging project based learning. I want students to feel a sense of belonging and that each of their voices is heard and valued. I can’t wait to meet the students and looking forward to a great year of learning ahead!
In my free time, I love traveling, reading, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and anything outdoors! I’m excited to make Taiwan my new home and learn more about the culture and people of this beautiful country.
Best,
Lindsey
