Letters of thanks from Annie’s Mom
Dear Principal BihHua,
With a heart full of gratitude, we thank you!
Annie officially passed the Canadian psychotherapist licensing exam last week. When she told us this great news over the phone, her father immediately said, “It’s a good thing we sent you to Cornel School 20 plus years ago.” At this moment, I can’t help but recall the amusing things this child said when she was young.
When she was in kindergarten, I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up. She said she wanted to be a mother. A bit older, I asked her again, and she said she wanted to be a bread vendor because bread is delicious! When she was in elementary school, I asked her again, and she said she wanted to be an art teacher. To my surprise, after graduating from National Taiwan Normal University and completing her internship, obtaining a high school art teacher qualification in Taiwan, she decided not to become an art teacher. Instead, she chose to study for a master’s degree in art therapy abroad because she encountered art therapy and took psychology courses while studying in the art department of NTNU, which sparked her interest in art therapy. She said she wanted to become an art therapist because it is a job that helps people.
Her journey of pursuing her dream has been like a magical adventure. In Canada, as a foreigner, she participated in the licensing exam just like the locals, passing each hurdle toward her goal. She had to integrate listening, speaking, reading, and writing with local life and professional fields, which is truly not easy! We are sincerely grateful to you and Cornel International School for laying a solid foundation during her childhood learning stage.
Sincerely,
Annie’s Mom
